If you have a Donor-Advised Fund and are seeking opportunities to be more impactful, we’re here to help. Thanks to our strong relationships with local nonprofit leaders and our thorough due diligence process, we can guide you toward the most meaningful and effective giving opportunities. You’ll also have access to a personalized dashboard that tracks your giving over time, so you can easily see who you've supported and how much you've given, all in one place.

Setting up a private foundation involves legal fees, ongoing compliance, and annual distribution requirements. With a DAF, you get similar impact—with far less complexity, greater anonymity, and no mandatory 5% annual distribution (although distributions are encouraged as we want to see your dollars go to work in the community!).

Philanthropy can be a powerful way to bring families together. With DAFs, you can involve family members now or name them as successors to your fund, building a lasting legacy of giving that can span generations.

You can honor a person’s love for this community by establishing a memorial fund after they pass and enable friends and family to pay tribute with tax-deductible donations. If a person wants to leave a legacy locally, memorial funds can also be a vehicle for bequests in estate plans. Individuals age 70 1/2 and older can make tax-advantaged donations from their traditional, SEP, or SIMPLE IRAs (inactive plans only) to Spur Community Foundation through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). This allows you to satisfy all or part of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) while reducing taxable income.
