Spur is currently seeking 1-2 new Board members whose attributes and expertise align with current priorities. As of October 2023, those are:
Understanding of the circumstances faced by our Valley’s most vulnerable and at-risk populations
Marketing and communications
Investment and asset management for charitable foundations
People interested in being considered should contact us by emailing askus@spurfoundation.org
Spur initiated the Advisory Board to expand the circle of people guiding our strategic development. Advisors participate in Board meetings in a nonvoting capacity, serve on committees, and attend Spur events according to their interests, provided there is space available.
In addition to intellectual support, Spur asks its Advisors to make an annual contribution to the operating budget. Spur’s business model is based on internal stakeholders, such as our Board Members, Advisors, and grateful donors, funding annual operations so that 100% of other donations can flow out to the community without being assessed administrative fees.
A nomination and approval process involving Spur’s Board of Directors governs the selection of Advisors.
