Community Impact Fund

The most versatile fund for ensuring your generosity flows to the greatest needs in our community. Grants go to compelling opportunities selected and prioritized by Spur based on our knowledge of the nonprofit landscape and on applications submitted twice per year by local nonprofit organizations.

Area of Interest Funds

Animal Welfare

Donations benefit programs and services relating to all local wildlife and the population of domesticated animals.

Arts & Culture

Donations benefit programs and services relating to any form of the arts (Literary, Performing, Visual, etc.) and cultural activities, events, and traditions.

Education

Donations benefit local youth from early childhood to post-secondary education. Priority is given depending on equity of access and student potential.

Environment

Donations support the conservation and preservation of local landscapes, habitat and natural resources and amenities.

Health & Human Services

Donations support programs and services relating to human health, well-being, and quality-of-life.

Housing

Donations benefit programs and organizations focused on increasing or maintaining housing units that are affordable to local workers.

Nonprofit Leadership & Effectiveness

Donations foster excellence in the local nonprofit sector by supporting Spur's nonprofit programs through advisory services and professional development.

Sports & Recreation

Donations support local sports programs and recreational opportunities for all ages. Priority given to programs that promote equitable access.

Special Purpose Funds

Funds in this category are established for community projects or opportunities with a short-term duration as opposed to an ongoing need.

Greenhorn Fire Station Housing Fund

This fund supports the creation of 8 units of single-family housing for emergency responders at the Greenhorn Fire Station located mid-valley. The North Blaine County Fire District in partnership with the City of Sun Valley has undertaken this project to attract and retain fire fighters and paramedics and to ensure rapid response times that will save lives and homes. Pass Through Fund

Spur also maintains a fund that accepts donations restricted for immediate distribution to specific local programs and organizations.

The donors who utilize this fund typically want Spur’s ideas and administrative support, do not need to park philanthropic capital for any length of time, and prefer a degree of anonymity or a buffer between them and the grant recipients. Contact us to learn more about this option
